PROJECT
WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL
The mission of Memorízate is to put together the traces of our history so we all can recognize ourselves in this truth and make sure that it does not happen again. That's why we do it in a participatory, collective and collaborative way.
Following Wikipedia's format, we have launched an open database of victims of repression during the Civil War and Franco's regime aimed to bring together all information.
We have already been able to locate and collect thousands of documentary references. All this material, previously scattered and lacking a systematic order, is available on this portal.
Now it is time to include in the process our network of moderators that will allow the management, sorting and validation of all the information uploaded to the database. Historical accuracy will mark this process. We intend to meet the living witnesses and let them tell us about their experiences. For us, memory is the transmission of experiences. In a caravan we will travel nationally and internationally to recover each story, each testimony and complete, all of us together, the puzzle of our history.
We will open a space in the public square to talk, share and heal the wounds; a meeting that seeks reconciliation and a collective catharsis.
It is time to put a face, voice and life to our story. At this point and thanks to the collaboration of many, both on this website and with the caravan, we will be able to put together the whole story. Every story, every testimony counts.
Where are you in this story? What is your degree of connection to one of these stories?
Memorízate will script and convert the data and testimonies into interactive stories. A choral, human and pedagogical story created by all of us.ARCHIVE
