WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL

From Memorízate, an open and collaborative platform that seeks to collect on this website the individual stories, materials and data of the victims of the Civil War and Francoism, our mission is to put together the traces of our history so we all can recognize ourselves in this truth and make sure that it does not happen again.

That's why we work to create a space for the construction of collective memory in a living, up-to-date, participatory, collaborative, democratic, plural, multi-generational and, therefore, subjective way.

As an extension of this project, in 2020 FIBGAR launched ¡Memorízate! – Let's activate our democratic memory!, thanks to co-funding received by the Ministry of the Presidency, Parliamentary Relations and Democratic Memory.

Within the framework of these projects, we have also promoted the initiative ¡Memorízate! – Let's compromise with our memory. This is an ongoing project, co-financed by the Ministry of the Presidency, Parliamentary Relations and Democratic Memory, which seeks to turn a group of young people into agents for the collection, research and dissemination of Spain's democratic memory.

These initiatives aim to generate shared resources, always based on truth, justice, reparation and guarantees of non-repetition, which integrate testimonies and life experiences in order not to forget the seriousness of human rights violations. These testimonies and life experiences collected on this website include data, documents, photographs and above all, our testimonies, of our fathers and mothers, grandmothers and grandfathers, to prevent them from being forgotten.

The mission of Memorízate is to put together the traces of our history so we all can recognize ourselves in this truth and make sure that it does not happen again. That's why we do it in a participatory, collective and collaborative way.
